Knotted Lens, LLC 

Studio Policy, Waiver, & Release of Liability (updated as of: 9/15/2025)

When visiting or participating in activities in the studio, you agree to the terms outlined herein:

 

1. General Participation & Liability Waiver

I understand that participation in any art-related activity at Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio may involve the use of paints, tools, equipment, and other materials that could pose potential hazards.

 

I acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks related to these activities.

 

I hereby waive, release, and discharge Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio, its members, owners, instructors, staff, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action for injuries, damages, or loss (including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death) that may arise from or relate to my participation in studio activities, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

 

2. Minor Participation (If Applicable)

If the participant is under 18 years of age:

 

I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor and give permission for them to participate in Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio activities. I acknowledge all terms contained herein on their behalf and assume all associated risks. I will complete an emergency pick-up form when dropping off a child. (Drop-off is only in effect for classes labeled ARTVENTURERS or CHROMANAUTS. To register your minor child for an ADULT class, you will need to pay for 2 seats)

 

Classes for ages 3-5 (pre-k through K) must have a responsible party sit beside them during projects.

 

For 1st-3rd grade artists, a responsible party must be present in the studio.

 

4th-12th grade artists can be signed in and dropped off for classes (see pick-up policy below).

 

3. Pick-Up Policy (For Minors)

I understand that minors (grade 4 and up) must be picked up promptly at the conclusion of their timed activity. Knotted Lens, LLC does not provide childcare beyond scheduled class times. Repeated lateness may result in additional charges or exclusion from future activities.

 

I understand that children from 3rd grade and under cannot be left unattended at Knotted Lens, LLC without a responsible party being present. 

 

Responsible party: Any person aged 12+ that is able to assist the younger child with projects, personal hygiene (ie, handwashing, toileting, etc)

4. Food and Drink Policy

Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio does not sell food or drink. Drinks with closeable, no-spill lids, may be brought into the studio (see Section 6 regarding alcoholic beverages). Food is not allowed during public classes or open studio hours.

 

Food is allowed during private classes/parties.


 

5. Alcohol Policy

I understand that Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio does not provide, serve, sell or allow alcoholic beverages on the premises.  Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio is not a licensed liquor establishment. No alcohol, including beer and wine, is to be consumed in the Knotted Lens studio.


 

6. Smoking Vaping Policy

For the health and safety of all participants at Knotted Lens, LLC, smoking and/or vaping is not allowed anywhere in the studio, including the workroom and restroom. 


 

7. Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio to call emergency services. I, the participant, or parent/guardian of the minor child, am financially responsible for any resulting costs.


 

8. Cancellation Policy

At Knotted Lens, LLC craft studio, we understand that life happens! While we do not offer refunds for missed classes, camps, or events, we’re happy to work with you to reschedule your session whenever possible.

 

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the scheduled session to be eligible for rescheduling.

 

Rescheduled sessions are subject to availability.

 

No-shows or last-minute cancellations (within 24 hours) may forfeit the ability to reschedule.


 

9. Photography Release

I understand that photographs or videos may be taken during classes and events for promotional purposes. By participating in Knotted Lens events, I am giving permission for Knotted Lens, LLC to use images of myself, or that of my child in marketing materials, including social media. I further understand that I will not receive any fee or other compensation by reason of such use.
